Nichem LP 1124
Low-phosphorus electroless nickel with automation capability
Nichem LP 1124 is a next-generation electroless nickel process designed for precision, consistency, and efficiency. Operating at a lower pH (5.1¨C5.5), it produces a green bath color that enables automatic dosing compatibility¡ªa breakthrough for low-P plating.
This innovation ensures accurate nickel control, stable phosphorus content (2¨C4%), and consistent deposit properties throughout the bath life. The low phosphorus incorporation results in deposits with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The process is highly tolerant to metallic impurities, offers good adhesion on steel and aluminum substrates, and passes rigorous porosity and bend tests. Combined with its environmentally friendly chemistry, Nichem LP 1124 is a robust solution for functional engineering applications.
What inspires us
Why we developed Nichem LP 1124
Your challenge
Low-phosphorus electroless nickel baths often show fluctuations in phosphorus content, which impacts hardness, wear resistance, and solderability. They degrade quickly, causing turbidity and requiring frequent tank maintenance. Those baths are prone to fluctuations in visual appearance. Traditional low-P baths cannot be monitored by automatic dosing systems because their blue color (caused by high pH and ammonia) prevents EN controllers in automatic dosing systems from reading nickel concentration. This forces manual replenishment, leading to variability and higher labor costs.
Our solution
We have developed Nichem LP 1124 to eliminate these limitations by introducing a green bath color through a lower operating pH (5.1¨C5.5), making the process fully compatible with EN controllers for automatic dosing. This breakthrough ensures precise nickel control and reduces manual intervention, improving consistency and efficiency. Advanced stabilizer chemistry maintains phosphorus content between 2¨C4% throughout the bath life, while extended stability up to 6¨C8 MTOs minimizes turbidity and downtime. Free from ammonia and environmentally compliant, Nichem LP 1124 delivers superior hardness, wear resistance, and solderability¡ªsetting a new standard for automated, high-performance electroless nickel plating.
