Nichem MP 75
The ultimate versatile solution for long lasting plating operations
Nichem MP 75 is a groundbreaking mid-phosphorus electroless nickel process developed to enhance efficiency and sustainability for functional plating of valves, tubes and other industrial and automotive applications. With a phosphorus content ranging from 5 to 7%, it combines high productivity, excellent corrosion and wear performance, and offers similar benefits to traditional technologies.
Operating at a low temperature of 75 ¡ãC, the process significantly reduces energy consumption by up to 50% and minimizes waterevaporation losses, leading to a significant decrease in CO2 footprint and water usage.
The lead and cadmium-free process complies with ELV, RoHS, and WEEE regulations, ensuring a lower environmental impact. With its wide operating window, extended bath life, and excellent bath stability, the Nichem MP 75 process sets a new standard for sustainable electroless nickel plating, tolerating low bath loading, and offering optimal performance on various substrates.
What inspires us
Why we developed Nichem MP 75
Your challenge
In recent years, energy cost has been increasing significantly, notably affecting the production cost of goods. As a result, manufacturers were driven to raise their product prices to maintain their business profitability, especially in cases where effective means to counter the rising expenses were not available. These challenges are not unique to one industry; even in the electroless nickel plating sector a growing need is seen for sustainable plating processes that help reduce energy and water consumption, minimize waste production, and ease the burden of wastewater treatment.
However, it is important to note that sustainability should not come at the expense of efficiency, productivity, or product quality. The ideal sustainable plating process should deliver performance and deposition results that are at least as good as, if not better than, conventional plating processes. The desired process must ensure that companies remain competitive and environmentally responsible.
Our solution
The Nichem MP 75, a low temperature mid P process was designed to be operate at 75 ¡ãC. By lowering the operating temperature, the process is able to reduce the amount of electricity (KWH) used to heat the electroless nickel bath by up to 50% helping to reduce the carbon footprint as well as the operating costs of the process.
The Nichem MP 75 can achieve this without the sacrificing the quality. It is suitable for all plant type environments and especially suited for the highly demanding operating conditions of a job shop. Despite the lower temperature, it offers a high plating speed throughout the long bath life, achieving 14 to 17 ?m/h with good appearance and pit-free deposits.
